The first images of the new Skoda Octavia RS have been leaked ahead of the car’s official unveiling. The images from Skoda's site are a tad fuzzy, but they still allow us to see what the new Octavia RS will look like on the outside.

They reveal the Skoda Ocatvia RS wearing a more aggressive front bumper with honeycomb grille inserts and LED fog lights, revised side skirts with lower-door details, gloss black mirrors, five-spoke alloy wheels, and red brake calipers.

In the regular 2013 Octavia, power will be provided by a range of petrol and diesel options, including an 89kW 1.4 litre petrol, a 131kW 1.8 litre petrol, and an 81kW 1.6 diesel. The petrol model should be quicker than the outgoing model, as it has at least a 10 hp advantage, as well as a weight advantage, so a sub-7-second 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time is to be expected.

The Skoda Octavia RS is expected to get the 2.0 litre direction injection petrol motor used by the Golf GTi which produces around 220 bhp. A 2.0 turbo diesel engine which generates power in the range of 170-180 bhp is also in the cards.

Skoda has unveiling a new MissionL concept at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show on September 13.

The new compact five-door vehicle will reveal the look of the company’s sixth model line, set to become the spearhead of the Czech carmaker’s planned model offensive as part of its 2018 growth strategy set last year, where the brand is looking to increase its sales to 1.5 million vehicles by then.

The MissionL is a Golf-sized hatchback that will sit between the Fabia supermini and Octavia small family car. There’s no official word on what Skoda will call the production car. Rumours suggesting the car will be called the Felicia are said to be wide of the mark.

  • The brand's sixth model line
  • ŠKODA starts its "model offensive"
  • Worldwide brand sales planned to reach 1.5 million vehicles by 2018

Mladá Boleslav, 5 September, 2011 - ŠKODA will present a world-premier design concept called MissionL at this year's Frankfurt International Motor Show. Close to the final production-ready design, this concept car reveals the look of the ŠKODA's sixth model line that is to become symbolic of the Czech carmaker's planned model offensive.

The new compact five-door vehicle will be launched in Europe, Russia and China. In line with the brand's internationalisation principles, this compact ‘liftback' will feature specific modifications in each of these regions. In addition, the Indian market will have its own version, a compact sedan. These steps are in line with the goals of ŠKODA's 2018 growth strategy that were set last year. The brand intends to increase its sales to 1.5 million vehicles by 2018.

"Revealing the look of our new compact model, the MissionL shows exactly the direction our brand is going to take," says ŠKODA Board Chairman Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. "The world premiere in Frankfurt gives a clear signal that ŠKODA is going full steam ahead now. We are going to present a new vehicle every six months over the next two or three years."

In line with its 2018 growth strategy, the brand is gearing up, investing heavily in new models, markets and production capacities. Starting in mid 2013, the Yeti will be launched in the Chinese market and will be produced locally. Furthermore, ŠKODA (in cooperation with Shanghai Volkswagen) will produce a new compact model for this market from 2013, increasing the number of models produced in China to five.

The brand will also expand production in Russia through the Volkswagen Group's partnership with the Russian-based car manufacturer GAZ Group. The GAZ plant in Nizhny Novgorod will start producing the Yeti in the last quarter of 2012. In India, ŠKODA will start production of a brand new compact sedan this year. The brand also remains focused on its traditional markets - Europe and the Czech Republic, its home market. Beside the Fabia and Octavia, ŠKODA's main plant in Mladá Boleslav will produce a third model; the brand is already increasing the capacity of its production lines. Starting in late 2012, ŠKODA will also manufacture the automatic twin-clutch gearbox DQ200 in its plant in Vrchlabí.

Skoda has announced it will be previewing a new design language and corporate logo with a concept car at the upcoming Geneva show.

This new Skoda Concept is defined by ‘precisely defined shapes and a great sense of detail’, the production model based on this concept will be entrancing the market in 2012. While for the Skoda’s logo, the traditional winged-arrow will have a new spectrum of colors in order to make it more ‘unique and precise’.

Skoda will also be displaying a special edition Fabia at the Geneva show. Dubbed the Fabia Monte Carlo, the special edition car is intended to commemorate Skoda’s 110th motorsport season. The Fabia Monte Carlo will feature a sports-tuned chassis, black accessories and a sports interior.

New corporate design and new logo ushers in a new era of the brand's development. New concept car reflects the Škoda's new design language.

Highlighting its achievements and the brand's new direction, Škoda Auto will present a new corporate design at the forthcoming Geneva Motorshow. With strong growth over the last 20 years and the best-ever sales result achieved in 2010, the Czech car manufacturer has set new ambitious goals to at least double its sales by 2018. Furthermore, the brand is set to present a concept car at the Geneva Motorshow which reflects Škoda's new design language.

Škoda's recent success will act as a springboard for its further growth plans. In addition to its current product portfolio, Škoda will reveal a concept car which reflects the brand's new design language. The car is a nod towards the design language of future products, featuring clearly defined shapes and a new logo which will adorn new Škoda's models from 2012.

The traditional winged-arrow logo features a new spectrum of colours to look even more distinct and precise than ever before. The new corporate design will be adopted across all Škoda's communications, as well as dealers. To this end, the design and layout of showrooms are going to be substantially modernised, too.

Škoda is celebrating 110 years of its motorsport efforts in 2011. To commemorate this landmark, Škoda will premiere the Fabia Monte Carlo, a special-edition model with a sports-tuned chassis, a dynamic look including black accessories and a sports interior.

The brand made a great start to its 110th motorsport season when Freddy Loix in a Fabia Super 2000 finished second at the 100th Monte Carlo Rally in late January.

Škoda Auto is unveiling the new-look Fabia and Roomster at this year's Geneva Motorshow. Škoda's compact cars have been given an exciting exterior redesign, plus a fresh range of engines, packed with new technology.

The new design accentuates the cars' width, with a totally redesigned face that gives both cars a more dynamic look, increasing their road presence. Scout models have also been redesigned, with a new Fabia hatch version making its debut in Geneva.

The new look is most evident in the redesigned radiator grille and 3D-shaped headlamps, which have been considerably widened, highlighting the stronger horizontal line of the cars' faces. This gives both Fabia and Roomster a more dynamic look, while losing none of the cars' elegance and appeal. Both vehicles now look more confident, mature and expressive.

The Fabia, Fabia Estate and Roomster also receive a number of technological improvements including state-of-the-art engines. This new engine portfolio is at the very core of the changes, with the entire front structure being redesigned to accommodate them.

Škoda will offer four petrol engines and two diesel units in the UK, with power ranging from 60bhp to 105bhp in the Fabia and from 70bhp to 105bhp in the Roomster. All engines comply with the EU5 standard and deliver exceptionally low fuel consumption and CO2 emission levels.

But Škoda's development efforts weren't only aimed at improving efficiency – improved performance was also a key goal. Nowhere is this more apparent than when the new 1.2 TSI 105bhp petrol engine is combined with the optimised, two-clutch seven-speed DSG transmission. This delivers impressive power with excellent combined fuel consumption of just 53.3 mpg. The four-cylinder 1.2 TSI engine is available in two power levels – 85 bhp and 105bhp. Both of these will also be available with a five-speed manual transmission.

Both diesel units are fitted with high-pressure Common Rail injection, with a pressure of up to 1,600 bar combined with fast-responding piezoelectric injectors that are able to perform as many as five injections within one beat, resulting in improved engine refinement. Both diesel engines feature particulate filters as standard and CO2 emissions are under 110g/km.

The Fabia engine line-up consists of:
  • 1.2 6V 60 bhp
  • 1.2 12V 70 bhp
  • 1.2 TSI 85 bhp
  • 1.2 TSI 105bhp (manual and DSG)
  • 1.6 TDI CR DPF 90 bhp
  • 1.6 TDI CR DPF 105 bhp
The Roomster is available with the following engines:
  • 1.2 12V 70 bhp
  • 1.2 TSI 85 bhp
  • 1.2 TSI 105bhp (manual and DSG)
  • 1.6 TDI CR DPF 90 bhp
  • 1.6 TDI CR DPF 105 bhp
The Škoda stand will be located in Hall 2, stand 2160. The press conference will take place on March 2nd 2010 at 12.45 at the Škoda Auto stand.

A total of four engines will be available, two each for petrol and diesel applications. The base petrol model features a 1.4-liter engine that produces 63 kW (85bhp) and offers a fuel consumption rating of 6.5L/100km (43.5mpg). Should that fail to peak your interest, a 1.6-liter petrol unit will also be offered and it cranks out 77 kW (105bhp) and averages 6.9L/100km (40.9mpg). On the diesel side there is a 1.4-liter engine with 59 kW (80bhp) that consumes fuel at a rate of 4.6L/100km (61.4mpg) as well as a 1.9-liter engine producing 77 kW (105bhp) that is rated at 4.9L/100km (57.7mpg).

The exterior wears Skoda's trademark grille and blackened A-pillars, this clever design trick helps to minimize their appearance by making them blend into the car's greenhouse giving the windscreen a wraparound look. However the biggest design aspect (and the one most likely to draw criticism) is the wagon's plastic body cladding. Skoda considers it to be a sign of ruggedness, but cheapness might be more correct. Despite that minor detail, the new model also features lightweight 16-inch ‘Arktos' alloy wheels, fog lights, and tinted windows.

Although the company failed to release pictures of the interior, Skoda says that it will offer Scout-specific upholstery, floor mats with the Scout logo and stainless steel pedals.

Look for the new Fabia Scout to start appearing in dealerships this May with prices expected to be announced closer to launch.

Skoda has released the first official images and details regarding their new Fabia Scout which will debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

Exterior

Dateless elegance without fashion excesses
Representative appearance, unmistakable face of the Škoda vehicles and balanced proportion of the classic three-sectional body with gradually receding back – that’s the Superb, a vehicle in the higher middle class category. The dateless design without fashion excesses is a guarantee that the vehicle shall not lose its attractive appearance even after a longer period of time.
The front part of the vehicle is dominated by the typical mask, framed in expressive chroming with the large Škoda emblem, which points to the long and rich history of the brand. Thanks to its dimensions, the mask has a very self-confident and ambitious impact. The massive clear headlights and integrated fog lights and the whole front bumper further accentuate this impression.
From the side view, decent chrome strips on the upper frames of the windows stand out (from the Comfort versions, they are also installed on the bottom frames). The rear doors are the largest that we have ever used on a Škoda vehicle. Their dimensions are really imposing, getting into and out of the vehicle thus becomes easy. The basic Classic version is also already equipped with tinted windows, the windscreen is moreover decorated with a protective green strip against sunlight. The light alloy wheels also give the vehicle a predatory and charming appearance.

Interior

The interior of the Škoda Superb is so spacious that you can easily get lost. It provides maximum comfort and safety to all the passengers. The imposing size of the interior is, however, not the only reason why travelling in the Superb is so comfortable. A number of witty details take care of you.
The dominant element in the interior is the dashboard with ergonomically shaped steering wheel (leather from the Comfort version). The wide centre console already in the standard Classic version offers mechanical air-conditioning. The large display of the navigation system with TV tuner comfortably fits beside it. All the controls are positioned in such a way that they are always within reach. The decorative fine materials finish that you find, not only on the centre console, but also the door panels or the frames of the air vents create a pleasant sense of luxury. In the Classic version, this concerns the Volcano black lacquer finish; in higher equipment categories you find the Nicro matte metallic finish or the exclusive Vavona wood finish. The upper section of the dashboard is always in Black Onyx colour. The colour of the lower section may be combined with the colour of the chosen upholstery to ensure that everything suits your taste.

In each part of the interior you find a lot of good and original ideas. An excellent example may be the folding back of the front passenger’s seat, which serves as a leg support for the passenger in the rear. What about the, so-called, WetCase, containing an umbrella in the left rear door, designed in such a way that the water from the wet umbrella flows out of the vehicle? The driver and passengers shall appreciate the comfortable elbow rest between the seats, which covers the, so-called, Travel-Box, an air-conditioned storage compartment, which keeps drinks and food cold even on long journeys. Do you still need proof of the uniqueness of the Superb?

Equipment

The flagship of the Škoda brand offers overwhelming space for the passengers and maximum comfort and convenience even on the longest journeys. You may at your own discretion select one of three equipment versions and a big array of options.

If you need a representative and spacious vehicle and you do not insist on maximum equipment, the Classic version is the right choice for you. This model will already offer you air-conditioning, electric windows and door mirrors or side airbags for the driver and front passenger. The electronic systems ABS and EDS (optionally also ASR and MSR) will take care of driving safety in all circumstances.

The higher equipment variant, the version Comfort is characterised mainly by 16“ alloy wheels and chrome strips on the upper and lower edges of the window frames. The door mirrors are electrically adjustable, separately heated, moreover they are equipped with Boarding Spots lights for getting in. In the interior, you will find Climatronic air-conditioning, electrically heated seats, head airbags or the small leather package and leather steering wheel.

Elegance without compromises, the elegance is for the demanding customers – Superb Elegance. Bolid alloy wheels dominate the body with bi-xenon headlights, chrome strips on the window frames and side chrome protective strips. The door mirror has a memory, just like the electrically adjustable driver’s seat. Vavona wood decoration in the interior, air-conditioning, heating of front and rear seats, cruise control or radio with CD-player and eight speakers are only a fraction of the extensive offer of basic equipment.

Safety

Emphasis on and care for the safety of the crew is always first with us. The flagship of the Škoda brand must not be an exception and sets the example for many competitor vehicles in terms of active and passive safety elements.

The basic variant of the Classic version is already equipped with and in front. Each Superb vehicle is equipped with in rear and to ensure optimum protection in the area of the cervical spine.

We also think about the children. For safe travel of children, the vehicle is equipped with systemfor fixture of child safety seats. The fixture points for child seat are firm parts of the body and are at the same time properly hidden in the seat upholstery. You can rely on ISOFIX; it is currently considered the safest in its branch.

The basis of safety is, however, mainly the extraordinarily firm body with adequate deformation zones, triple braces in the doors and thresholds, and a modern advanced chassis, which guarantees excellent riding characteristics. Efficient disc brakes on all wheels take care of safe braking of the vehicle. The drive train is installed in such a way that it is pushed downwards in case of gross deformation and thus prevent its penetration into the interior of the vehicle.

The essential electronic systems substantially contribute to ensuring safe and comfortable travel in all conditions. All the basic variants of the vehicles have ABS and EDS; some of the engines in addition have ASR and MSR. ESP is an option (standard for the V6 2.8 and 2.5TDI engine versions), which contains other riding stability systems.

Engines & Technology

We offer you a selection of six modern engines for the Superb, which will surprise you in terms of fuel economy and extended service intervals.

Three of them are petrol engines: The 6-cylinder V6 2.8 30V is the most powerful engine, which Škoda Auto has manufactured in the last sixty years – it has a power of 142 kW (193 bhp). The next are the 24V, 4-cylinder, 1.8T/110 kW and the 2.0/85 kW engines.

Three TDI engines uphold the extraordinary reputation and popularity of diesel engines. It still applies that a vehicle with this marking has minimum fuel consumption, is reliable and at the same time adequately dynamic. The offer consists of a modern and dynamic 6-cylinder, 2.5 TDI, 120 kW engine and engines 1.9 TDI/77 kW and 2,0 TDI PD/103 kW with pump-nozzle technology. The pump is integrated in the cylinder head where it injects fuel under high pressure. The result is, among other things, increase in the performance parameters of the engine and lower fuel consumption. All the engines meet the EU4 standards.

All the Superb engines have EOBD. This checks the equipment that has an influence on the content of the exhaust gases. Superb offers more than just enough space. The generously designed interior guarantees exceptional comfort to all travellers. You do not have to curve or hunch up your shoulders and you will be able to stretch out your legs comfortably. In addition you will find a lot of imaginative details inside.

The car’s excellent handling as well as safety and reliability contribute to a remarkable experience behind the wheel. The Superb is ready to offer you luxury as well as a new look on life.

Exterior
The car earns top marks for its representative appearance and balanced proportions. The rear doors are the largest we have ever used on a Škoda, making getting in and out of the car simple.

The front part of the car is dominated by the radiator mask with accentuated shapes and a chrome frame with the Škoda emblem.

When viewing the side of the car, the decent chrome strips along the window frames and signal lights integrated into the outside rear-view mirrors truly stand out. The taillights have a characteristic C shape.

Interior
The control panel and ergonomically designed steering wheel are dominant features of the interior. The wide middle console offers automatic air conditioning even in the basic version.

The upper part of the control panel is always Onyx black. The colour of the lower part can be combined with the colour of the upholstery so as to perfectly suit your taste.

Decorative elements made of select materials, located on the middle console, door panels and air vent frames, create a pleasantly luxurious impression.
