TUNING WORLD BODENSEE 2008 overview:
Friedrichshafen, Germany - Burning rubber into the sixth lap: TUNING WORLD BODENSEE 2008 is bringing drift pro Olaf Commijs and DSF German Sport TV host Lina van de Mars to Lake Constance. From 1 to 4 May 2008, the industry and the tuning scene will meet on the exhibition grounds in Friedrichshafen for Europe's biggest tuning show. The spotlight in the exhibition halls will be on debuts and exclusive custom modified cars from international top tuners. Virtually every major tire and rim specialist will be exhibiting at the event. In addition, visitors will discover a wide range of inspiring ideas at the club and "private car" stands where the most original vehicles of the scene are on display.
The sixth edition of TUNING WORLD BODENSEE has it all - and the numbers speak for themselves: some 1,000 super-up custom cars in ten exhibition halls, roughly 250 exhibitors, a wide array of debuts and innovations, 150 club stands, around 200 private cars, 20 captivating Miss Tuning finalists, five awards, a world championship final and three after-hours parties. Last year, 102,000 visitors attended the event. "This is where the tuning scene meets, exchanges info on the latest products and revs up for the latest trends," said Messe Friedrichshafen CEO Klaus Wellmann.
Rinspeed Studie "sQuba" surfaces
Everyone is looking forward to the latest innovations and premieres of the coming tuning season. International top tuning companies and accessory specialists use TUNING WORLD BODENSEE to present their latest models and accessory innovations to a wide audience. For instance, Swiss visionary Frank Rinderknecht is showing his "sQuba". Recently, the Rinspeed submersible car made an incredible splash at the Geneva International Motor Show. TUNING WORLD BODENSEE is the first German exhibition to display this concept car.
Tire innovations presented at the show will include Yokohama's Parada Spec-X, which was specially designed for the growing segment for suped-up SUVs. "Virtually all the major brands in the three top-selling tuning segments - tires, rims and suspensions - will be on hand in Friedrichshafen," explains Project Manager Dirk Kreidenweiss. Eagerly anticipated innovations include the new Opel GT i40 by Irmscher (German premiere), the new OZ rim Vito Rosso (world premiere), which will adorn future Ferrari models, and the new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.
Drift master Commijs slides through the curves with the greatest of ease
Where there's smoke there's fire! Drift king Olaf Commijs and his Falken Drift Team are guaranteed to be the hottest act outside the exhibition halls. These days, drift challenges rank among the most popular motorsports events. Bringing the Dutch drift pro to TUNING WORLD BODENSEE gives visitors an opportunity to see one of the top drivers on the circuit. Three times a day, the drivers drift around the course in tuned-up Nissans with Falken tires. Lina van de Mars, the presenter of Tuning TV (on DSF - German Sport TV) will host the shows.
