Hyundai will show its new i30 family hatch at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show next month.

The new model, inspired by the new i40 (actually that hexagonal shaped front grille and headlights are the new face of all Hyundais), looks very nice compare with the previous one.

Along the profile and toward the rear, the new small hatch features the now-familiar and heavily creased character lines of the newer Hyundai line-up, shared with the Elantra, Accent, i20 and i45.

The next-generation i30 was designed and developed at Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre in Rüsselsheim, Germany, and Hyundai always goes to great lengths to emphasize the German/European DNA of its models. The model will compete in the largest segment in Europe - the C-segment dominated by the likes of the Volkswagen Golf, Opel Astra and Ford Focus for generations.

HYUNDAI REVEALS FIRST RENDERING OF THE ALL-NEW i30

  • ‘Fluidic sculpture' uses flowing lines to showcase a dynamic appearance
  • All-new-generation of i30 designed and engineered in Europe
  • New model set for world premiere at Frankfurt Motor Show next month

High Wycombe, 10 August 2011 - Hyundai has released the first rendering of the next-generation i30, revealing an exciting new look for the company's bestselling C-segment hatchback. It will be unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt International Motor Show (IAA) in September.

The all-new i30 was designed and engineered at the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre in Rüsselsheim, Germany, and represents the next evolution of the unique form language, ‘fluidic sculpture' - the company's distinctive design DNA.

The ‘fluidic sculpture' ethos utilises flowing lines inspired by nature and modern architecture to give a constant three-dimensional presence to Hyundai vehicles, and was introduced as the Hyundai ix-onic concept at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. Since this debut, ‘fluidic sculpture' has become the design language behind all new Hyundai models launched in Europe.

Thomas Bürkle, Chief Designer, Hyundai Motor Europe commented: "When designing the new i30, we used strong, fluid lines to sculpt a car which looks athletic while exuding a sense of constant motion, even when stationary. From the rendering, you can see how we managed to give the car a bold stance, transmitting a confident attitude through sporty characteristics and dynamic proportions. In this way, the car is very close to the recently unveiled i40, and we want people to recognise the Hyundai design DNA on those two models."

The next-generation i30 is also recognisable thanks to Hyundai's signature front face - the hexagonal shaped front grille.

"The hexagonal appearance is unique to Hyundai, with the jewel-like front headlamps which flank the grille adding a strong personality to the vehicle, as well as a sense of refinement and luxury," Thomas Bürkle added.

Allan Rushforth, Senior Vice President and COO of Hyundai Motor Europe, commented, "We expect this next-generation i30 to play a significant role in developing our brand image in Europe and strengthen the vehicle's position as our best-seller in Europe. Since 2007, the name ‘i30' has become synonymous with ‘quality', ‘reliability' and ‘low emissions' in Europe, and we hope that, amongst others, the term ‘emotional appeal and style' will be added to the list with the introduction of this dynamic new model.

"Under our brand slogan ‘New Thinking. New Possibilities', our European team of designers have sculpted a car which truly looks at home on European roads thanks to its bold and confident appearance. We are very excited about revealing the car for the first time in Frankfurt next month."

Jeep has released early teaser previews of a couple of new Wranglers it plans to unveil at the 45th annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari in Utah, US. Not sure about its Pork Chop name connection but as its muscularly enhanced red and white themed exterior suggest it will most likely offer unbeatable off-road experience.

The Pork Chop concept looks to be an extreme off-roader, arriving with beefier wheels and tires, racing front seats, a substantial roll bar and a back seat delete. A unique paint scheme adds to the rig’s custom look.

Renegade on the other hand shows little deviation from the original except for the mysterious bonnet bulge that suggests recently rumoured V8 version may well and truly be on the cards. Its official release is scheduled for 16th of April 2011. Stay tuned for more information on Jeep Pork Chop and Renegade concepts.

Ford's new Mad Max car

发表者 ddgg 3/29/11

Ford of Australia has unveiled not one but two Mad Max Interceptor Concepts. The concepts were designed by Ford’s designers for Top Gear Magazine Australia to help celebrate the revival of the Mad Max action movie genre.

The design of the vehicles was overseen by Ford's design director for Asia, Pacific and Australia, Chris Svensson. The two concepts seen here, by designers Nima Nourian and Simon Brook, will compete in a survey of Top Gear readers to see which one will continue on in the production process.

The two designs, offered by competing artists Nima Nourian and Simon Brook, attempt to capture the frenzied, rugged appearance of the original in a modern light, though to our eye, they're a bit too polished and not quite as brutal as the original, despite a futuristic car-taser fitted to the front of Nourian's take.

Ford Australia Revives Mad Max Interceptor

Ford Australia, in partnership with TopGear Australia magazine, has unveiled not one, but two spectacular new Mad Max Interceptors.

The 21st century concepts have been designed by Ford's designers for TopGear Magazine Australia to help celebrate the revival of the Mad Max action movie genre.

It is more than 30 years since Hollywood director, George Miller's original Mad Max movie - starring Mel Gibson and a jet black Ford XB coupe-based Interceptor - hit movie screens around the world.

Ford Australia's Melbourne-based Asia, Pacific and Australia Design Director, Chris Svensson, jumped at the chance to design a new Interceptor and has since thrown the full weight of Ford Australia's Research Centre behind the project, with stunning results.

"Our entire team was very excited to be involved in this after-hours project and they approached it with a great deal of enthusiasm - even those that were too young to remember the first Mad Max movie," Svensson said. "We had a special screening of the original movie so they could understand it."

Led by chief designer passenger cars Asia, Pacific and Africa, Todd Willing, the team created several way-out concepts that pay homage to styling cues from the original XB Coupe Interceptor.

Out of the concepts two have been chosen by the magazine to feature in the April issue of TopGear Australia magazine, on sale now, because they take body design, power sources and weaponry to a futuristic level.

TopGear Australia magazine readers will be invited to vote on which design Ford should take to the next level.

The winning car will be turned into a clay model, and then a scale version, which is expected to be revealed later this year.

The two competing designs - by designers Nima Nourian and Simon Brook - are limitless in their imagination, technology and weaponry. Among the weaponry is an industrial-strength "taser" mounted to the bonnet to zap bad guys on bikes straight off the road.

Other futuristic movie features include a titanium-lined body shell to interrupt police scanners and wheels with extendable spikes to shred enemy vehicles.

Nourian said his design paid tribute to the 1970s Interceptor, but also drags the car into the future.

"There are some great scenes in the first movie with high-speed chases and clashes with the bad guys, and I thought I'd take that one step further," he said. "So instead of having weapons and machine guns, we've got an industrial strength taser that'll zap cars dead and out of the way.

Brook's car was equally threatening. "During high-speed pursuits, the wheels inner spokes on my design would pop out and start ripping up other cars," Brook said. "They'd do some serious damage to other people's vehicles."

Brook's design takes cues from the current FG Falcon but advances it further into Armageddon-land, while adding touches of the retro Interceptor as well. "I wanted to keep it clean and aerodynamic in its essence, but still brutal and tough."

Miller has begun filming for a new Mad Max instalment, tentatively called Mad Max 4: Fury Road.

Shayton Equilibrium

发表者 ddgg 3/5/11

The Shayton Equilibrium supercar boasts some serious specs, including a top speed of over 249 mph, a 0-60 under three seconds and 1,084 bhp. It’ll retail for over 1 million euros, and Shayton will produce just 15 cars a year, including five special editions.

The Shayton Equilibrium supercar is built on a carbon-titanium monocoque chassis and has a body made of carbon fiber, obviously. The power of the Shayton Equilibrium comes from a V12 engine, that develops 1084 bhp and 930 Nm of torque at 5000 rpm. The displacement of the engine has not been announced, but the supercar's weight has - 1200kg. Here are some interesting specs regarding the Shayton Equilibrium: its body generates 750 kg of downforce at 300 km/h and the supercar has a 1.42 kg/hp power-to-weight ratio.

Power from a V12 engine is optimistacally rated at 1,084bhp, with a torque of 930Nm at 5,000rpm. The 1,200kg has a rear bias (53%) in its weight distribution.

Inside, there’s leather, alcantara, carbon-fibre, brushed aluminium and even a Bang and Olufsen sound system.

Pricing and availability is where things get a bit rocky for this predator as there will only be 20 units made available with a double-take type price of 1,000,000 euro, or $1,400,000 at the current exchange rates.

Shayton Equilibrium

Limited edition hyper car

Shayton is a crown project of Provoco’s State of Passion design and development philosophy and the founding statement of Provoco, a brand set to define new perception of beauty, quality and lifestyle in the 21st century.

More than just a concept of a super sports car, the project is designed as an automobile niche brand based on a strong story, solid foundations and a daring vision to become one of the worlds leading super car manufactures, exposing the market with new competition.

The main focus is to develop the car into a small production model and from then start fueling the evolution pushing the edges of development, design and technology, get involved in other areas such as racing and evolve as the pop-cultural and the new status icon of new millennium.

Shayton Equilibrium is the name of the first unveiled Shayton model. The name represents the basic cosmic principle everything is based upon, the natural balance of the universe. Shayton Equilibrium is the condition of a system in which competing influences are balanced.

In the words of the creators Shayton Equilibrium represents pure hedonism, perversion on four wheels, on one side an abstract concept to most people and on the other a realization of all childhood fantasies and dreams for the selected few.

It represents the ultimate pleasure, a new perception of getting from one point to another, where the goal is not as important as the experience. It represents an object of ultimate excitement and a path to rediscovering your inner self... Only by looking at him, he represents sense inside nonsense. To one it represents the return to innocence.

A child of the wind and a falcon

The process of the creation is something that has not been imagined before. It is compared to genetics and the natural process of evolution, where the challenge lies in joining two in the combining sense abstract and different matters...

The force of the wind with the falcon... The end result of is Shayton. A child of the wind and a falcon...

Bold and provocative vision

The bold statement for what Shayton is aimed to achieve is simply to garage the competition and let it stay there....It’s point is to prove that new great brands can come out of 21st century and that you only need passion which is the leading factor that joins unique souls together to create something not only to sweep with all the competition, but to beat them on all areas...

Passion of creation

The creation was not by reason but by pure passion and therefore it’s beauty relies totally on feelings, connection and implementation with nature and the biomimetic aerodynamic form is compared to the one of the natural perfected design for speed of the falcon - Shayton.

Technical vision

Shayton’s aim is to develop a car that is not just beautiful and fast, but also technically done. Every detail is aimed to be done to the maximum and every part will be the best.

We strive to discover the limits of material capabilities, finding of new composing materials, maybe to test the capabilities of new alternative power engines that could enhance the performance.

To use to the limits the technologies developed, and dare to develop new technologies and materials.

Shayton’s primary idea is not to make the worlds fastest cat but striving for perfection and technical excellence using best materials available and aim for the highest overall performance and groundbreaking results. We will therefore not be surprised if some record breaking results in the end do occur.

New niche and interaction

Another bold statement is that this car is not trying to be a pure racer. It is not even trying to be a pure luxury exotic. This car is planned to be both. No words can prove it, but the look on it can make you believe it.

From the first moment this car is planned to be a controversial beast and this is Shayton’s vision is to offer new niches to the driver. It is aimed to surpass the expected thrills of speed, performance, roaring sound and the engine, or even comfort. The car will feature new interaction techniques.

The car will offer features like wireless internet to connect to your online music database and offer you connectivity everywhere, Saved driver settings and advanced user modes which will recognize the driver,..

Prototype, partners

The car has been developed to the point that needs to enter the next phase - creation of a prototype. Provoco is now meeting with potential investors and partners from all areas of the car industry who will believe in the essence of the project and also the business success of the brand. Automobile prototype will first be developed.

At this stage Provoco kindly invites all partners, visionaries, manufacturers, personas, who think they could attribute or join to the project to contact us on our contact details.

Brand evolution

Later on the brand will be expanded to new Shayton models that will cover more niche lines. The brand will expand onto other areas such as creating Shayton sports teams in top racing competitions which will added value to the brand but firstly it will be present the leading edge of Shaytons development and technology.

Launch and presentation

When the prototype will be produced, the car brand will be launched in a F1 style mannor based on the story and essence of Shayton. Along with that the car is aimed to be represented on various top car shows in the world and on the concourse of elegance on Lago di Como in Italy.

Name Shayton

The name Shayton originally comes from the Sioux Indian word for a falcon (Chayton pron. Shay-ton).

Main brand symbol - falcon

The main brand symbol is represented by a falcon, one of the fiercest birds of prey.

The falcon represents a respected animal throughout the world. It represents attacking power, speed, predation and also nobility in various world monarchies. Falcon is also the fastest moving creature on Earth and one of the smartest birds.

Falcon in symbolism

In indian symbolism the falcon assists in soul healing, accompanies the soul back to the soul world, teaches swiftness and aerobatics of life, controls speed and movement. The Egyptians also depicted their god Horus, who came to be partially conflated with Ra, as a falcon.

Myth

The myth of creation comes from the ancient Egyptian and tells of a world of chaos covered in mud. An unknown hand places a stick into this mud and a Falcon comes and perches on it. At once the land begins to rise out of the sea in the shape of a pyramid, the earth and the waters begin to separate and the world is born.

This act of creation was repeated every year in Egypt when the Nile flooded, inundating the land, and then receded leaving fertility and life for the people. The innundation and the reappearance of the first mounds of earth were celebrated throughout the times of the Pharaohs and these celebrations were linked to one of the battles between Seth and Horus.

Horus took the form of Solar Disc with the wings of a Falcon and with two Goddesses in the form of Cobras he routed the armies of Seth. This symbol of the winged Solar Disk means simply to “become”.

Creation

First there have been rushing elements of nature which are still reshaping the Earth, our own habitat. Elements so powerful humans often consider them as work of gods, supernatural forces that should be worshipped.

Imagine essence of these elements united into a shape. This is the creation of Shayton Shayton Equilibrium.

Perfect balanced masterpiece of all these elements captured in a form humans have never seen before. Shayton is a new god, the god of speed and performance. Faster than wind, more powerful than storm and as beautiful as if it was shaped by supernatural forces themselves.

Philosophy Essence of pleasure

Shayton Equilibrium represents forces manifested into form. It puts motion in shape, it is an essence of super-car in 21st century. Striking balance between beauty and performance enables Shayton to step out among respectful competition.

Well thought overall design and engineering, combined with use of latest technology and materials, enable you exhilarating driving experience whether you drive it on scenic roads by the Azure coast, by yourself or in a company, gives you feeling of nobility and prestige when visiting/ seeing Opera in the evening or cause you a rush of adrenalin when you are up to achieving the best time on a race track.

Vision Essence of equilibrium

Shayton is set to unleash a disturbing movement in the global hyper-cars atmosphere, especially affecting the competition based in Europe. Without rich heritage to rely on, Shayton is focused on the future.

The goal is to become the ultimate limited production hyper-car manufacturer in the market using newest technologies and materials to reach the state of condition in which competing influences are perfectly balanced: Shayton Equilibrium of design and engineering.

Lifestyle

Shayton offers a unique new lifestyle and defines a new perspective of car use, moving around and traveling.

Imagine your plan for the evening is to visit the Opera accompanied with your date but you are in need for rush of adrenalin just before you shall relax and enjoy the evening. What to do? You have two options.

Go straight to pick up spot using regular, common way or you could let the system help you set up more excited way. If you choose second option the car mode will go from normal to race. The suspension will lower the car and make it more firm on the road, radio will volume down to the minimum, interior lightning will set to the essentials, engine will be ready to work with full power, turbochargers will suck more air, seat will offer you tighter grip and the safety belt will readjust.

Red lights, red lights, red lights, green lights goooo...

You arrive at the pick up spot, still shivering from adrenalin rush. As you wait for your date, you enter new destination, Opera. The system recognize destination and setup the car. System softens, warm dim lightning turns on, radio browses trough the web to search music accordingly to destination and engine start working on lower rpms. From pure race to polite gentleman. Your date arrives, the night is yours. Relax, enjoy.

Design

Redefining perfection of form and performance Design of Shayton Equilibrium comes from pure emotions, from perfect balance of energies and forces within the lead designer Andrej Stanta. He says that this is the only way human is being able to develop such a masterpiece. Without function Shayton would be just another piece of art to put into the gallery. Therefore two worlds are to clash together at one point to make absolute perfection, equilibrium.

Engineering this car could be chapter of its own. Complex to the point where man develops new building techniques and use materials reserved for space and army industry.

According to Andrej Stanta the most difficult task is to reach compromises from both sides although both have goal to make this car pure balanced perfection. And this is Shayton.

Andrej Stanta says “To put the storm into form you have to make compromises or u can fail trying.“

Exterior

Shayton Equalibrium’s unmistakable design unites the DNA of a brutal wind storm, the elegance of a falcon in flight and pureness of a natural pearl.

It’s flowing lines aggressively cut by large side intakes and then beautifully reunited in the back give Shayton a distinctive muscular and aggressive yet very elegant and graceful look as well as low air resistance factor.

Interior

The elegant yet sporty interior in Shayton is dominated by a driver-focused cockpit architecture where the driver is in control.

Form follows emotion and function: this combined design principle is implemented throughout the car. Sitting inside in the driving seat makes one thing clear: you are possessing superpowers, you are in control of a fierce storm, enormous amount of energy, power and torque.

However, having control over all this brutal force ask for well thought interior with focus on the driver/owner. Ergonomics, styling and safety goes hand in hand inside the cockpit where is everything set up to ensure driver/owner ultimate driving experience when Shayton is pushed to its limits.

Engeneering

Manifestation of a fierce storm. So powerful and dangerous yet so perfect and stunningly beautiful. Among other things Shayton Equilibrium will feature all carbon-titanium chassis, forged aluminum alloy suspension, carbon-titanium wheels, state of the art electronics, and emission standards that will allow Shayton to dominate roads all over the World.

Honda will unveil the next-generation Civic at the 2011 North American International Auto Show in January. For now, the automaker is teasing the ninth-generation 2012 Civic with the illustration, above, with more details to be revealed next month.

The car’s design retains the current short rear-overhang hatchback shape. The front of the car is changed completely though incorporating a much more aggressive all-new grille and front fascia layout, similar to the current Type R sports version. There’s also a fresh front bumper bearing a wider grin and larger air intakes.

Sleekly aerodynamic, the sketch released by Honda appears to show the design of the 2012 Civic Coupe. That’s traditionally been the maker’s sportiest entry in the compact segment. Whether Honda will take a similarly aggressive approach with the 2012 Civic Sedan remains to be seen.

Further details of the 2012 Honda Civic Concept will be released soon.

Lotus Metamorphosis【Video】

Lotus's new project is called The Lotus Metamorphosis and Lotus has joined forces with award winning French artist Gérard Rancinan to create seven artistic images that will be showcased alongside a new book by French writer, Caroline Gaudriault, at a special event in Los Angeles on Friday, November 12.

Dubbed Metamorphosis, the collection of seven pictures (one each of the Esprit, Elan, Elite, Elise and Eterne as well as two montages) will be unveiled at a VIP event in Los Angeles alongside a book written by French author Caroline Gaudriault.

"Lotus is currently going through a complete metamorphosis and at times it can be a real challenge to communicate the transition of a brand, especially one as iconic as Lotus," said Lotus CEO Dany Bahar. "The passion people have for our brand can be both a blessing and a curse, everyone has a strong opinion – for this reason, we are always looking for creative ways to reach out to the world."

2. A marked change in appearance, character, condition, or function.

With a perfect example of art in motion, Lotus are set to unveil Metamorphosis - a unique collaboration between Lotus and the award winning French artist Gérard Rancinan - on Friday (12th November) at an exclusive VIP event in Los Angeles. Metamorphosis is a selection of seven stunning images alongside a book created by French writer, Caroline Gaudriault. Both elements aim to capture the essence of Lotus' evolution.

Lotus CEO Dany Bahar said: "Lotus is currently going through a complete metamorphosis and at times it can be a real challenge to communicate the transition of a brand, especially one as iconic as Lotus. The passion people have for our brand can be both a blessing and a curse, everyone has a strong opinion - for this reason, we are always looking for creative ways to reach out to the world. When the idea was presented to me, I couldn't resist. Gérard is an exceptional artist, I have followed his work closely over the years and I felt instinctively that he would be the perfect person to demonstrate our vision and encapsulate the spirit of our brand with his images. People are in for a real treat when they see all seven."

Gérard Rancinan creator of Metamorphosis said: "I can see a clear artistic link between the work of Lotus and my photographs in terms of commitment, the relevance of the subject matter, the audacity of the creator, the beauty of the gesture and the perfection of the object. We are engaged in a dialogue which takes place on the same terrain: the world of art."

Caroline Gaudriault author of the Metamorphosis book said: "Authors always look for a good story to use as a kind of canvas; their characters take on the form of living matter; they introduce twists and turns in their narratives in an attempt to surprise their readers. By immersing myself in the Lotus saga, I was able to find all the material I needed to create a feuilleton drawn from real life."

Lotus Director of Design Donato Coco said: "From a design perspective Lotus is in full metamorphosis and it's a natural progression for any forward thinking brand, in my view we are retaining the core DNA through everything we're doing - the way I see it, Lotus is more Lotus now than ever before. We obsessively seek innovation, we are unique and we are bold, that is what Lotus is about. With the Metamorphosis collaboration we are simply spreading our wings. The project means a great deal to me personally, I have known Gérard for many years and we inspire each other through our work - he completely understands our vision for the future of Lotus whilst still paying great respect to our past."

Mini Cooper has unveiled at the end of last week three Mini Life Ball 2010 designs created by Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein, Diane von Furstenberg and Kenneth Cole. The Mini Life Ball 2010 takes place in Vienna on 17th July and is one of the most important charity events that support the HIV/AIDS research.

On behalf of Calvin Klein, US fashion house's creative director Francisco Costa will be designing the new Mini Countryman crossover. US fashion designer with Belgian roots Diane von Furstenberg, will artistically enhance the MINI Hatch, while New York's Kenneth Cole apply his style on a Mini Convertible.

Previous Life Ball Mini specials have been designed by Missoni (2003), Ferré (2004), Versace (2005), Diesel (2006), Mario Testino (2007), Agent Provocateur (2008) and, last year, The Blonds for Katy Perry.

In the past, MINI has teamed up with Missoni, Ferré, Versace, Diesel, Mario Testino, and The Blonds for Katy Perry. Our favorite, for obvious reasons, is the lingerie-inspired Agent Provocateur Clubman. All told, MINI has helped to raise approximately €500,000 ($619,670 / £416,635) for AIDS research.

MINI supports the Life Ball in Vienna for the tenth time.

Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein, Diane von Furstenberg and Kenneth Cole crate three exclusive designer MINIs for a good cause.

Munich/Vienna. This year marks the tenth consecutive involvement on the part of MINI in Europe's biggest charity event in support of HIV/AIDS. The 18th Life Ball takes place in Vienna on 17th July 2010 and will once again be a hot spot for the international celebrity set. This flamboyant and extrovert event flies the flag for tolerance and solidarity. For MINI it provides an ideal platform on which to showcase its social-political commitment.

Since 2001, one of the chief protagonists at the Life Ball has been a MINI created by a fashion designer. This year for the first time, three different MINI models will be embellished by a trio of world-renowned names from the world of fashion. On behalf of America's Calvin Klein, his creative director Francisco Costa will be designing the MINI Countryman, the brand's new crossover model. The US fashion designer with Belgian roots Diane von Furstenberg, meanwhile, will add her artistic touch to a MINI Hatch, while New York's Kenneth Cole will imprint his unmistakable style on a MINI Convertible. These exclusive collector's items are to be auctioned on behalf of the charity supported by the Life Ball, the proceeds going to amfAR (the Foundation for AIDS Research).

The previous Life Ball MINIs have never failed to thrill with their outré designs. Indeed, their history reads like a Who's Who of the fashion industry: Missoni (2003), Ferré (2004), Versace (2005), Diesel (2006), Mario Testino (2007), Agent Provocateur (2008) and, last year, The Blonds for Katy Perry. Proceeds now total around EUR 500,000.

Life Ball 2010

This year's Life Ball will take place against a rather special backdrop, being held to tie in with the 18th International AIDS Conference that starts in Vienna the day after the big event. On 17th July, in addition to Vienna's City Hall and City Hall Square, the Burgtheater with its Red Ribbon Cotillion Summer Ball and even the Austrian Parliament - which hosts the amfAR Gala - will be dedicated to the red ribbon cause.

Based on this year's motto "Sow the Seeds of Solidarity!" and the "Earth" theme, the 2010 Life Ball will be planting its seeds around the world wherever there is a real need.

The social commitment of the BMW Group.

Worldwide measures to combat HIV/AIDS are one of the main elements of the corporate and social policy pursued by the BMW Group. The company's involvement in South Africa is particularly wide-ranging, covering a comprehensive workplace programme for employees and their families, plus a number of different projects in the local communities and further afield. The carmaker is also committed to fighting this pandemic in other affected countries, such as Thailand or China. Membership of the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS (GBC) underlines its long-term commitment at its various locations.

The Range Rover Q-VR Stretch SUV has designed from Design Q will be exhibited at the 10th biennial Dubai International Motor Show this week.

The car, which is in fact a streched Range Rover, will boast all the the luxury embellishments associated with private jets. So, the car will allow VIPs to travel in the same comfort on the ground as in the air and in order to achieve this target the vehile will be offered with a drinks chiller, mini-spa centre, cigar humidor and many other highly desirable features.

No powertrain figures were released but its a fact that the most powerful standard Range Rover has a 5.0 litre supercharged V8 worth 375 kW (503 bhp / 510 PS) and 625 Nm of torque.

Design Study: Lamborghini Minotauro

发表者 ddgg 4/9/10

The Lamborghini Minotauro, the model imagined for the year 2020, is equipped with 4 asynchronous motors powered by a Li-Tec flatcell battery pack in the back with the electricity being doubled by a KERS system in the front.

The Minotauro has two asynchronous 75-horsepower (56-kW, 76-PS) electric motors at the front that provide 30% of the car's power, and two 175-horsepower (131-kW, 177-PS) electric motors at the rear.  The system runs on a Cerio Li-Tec Flatcell battery, with a Kinetic Energy Recovery System also in place.  Batteries are kept cool by the triangular air vents at the rear.

A third passenger was made possible by the elimination of the V12 engine and sits right in the middle of the backseat with a narrower window to improve interior lighting and head room.

The third passenger is able to vacate the vehicle by the use of the longer “Lambo door” provided on the passenger side of the Minotauro.

Avarvarii would also like to see the inclusion of semi-virtual racing, where the car's on-board navigation system tracks the vehicle along a racetrack.  Meanwhile video gamers in their homes can race against the driver in virtual reality.

LAMBORGHINI MINOTAURO EXPLORING SOFT SHAPES FOR AN ELECTRIC LAMBORGHINI

PROJECT GOAL:

1. Aesthetic goal: Explore soft shapes for a new Lamborghini design language

The hard edge, faceted design seems to have peaked with the Lamborghini Reventon. To imagine a continuation in this origami style while keeping the purity specific to the Italian brand is almost impossible. Could a Sant'Agata pure-bred keep its identity while displaying soft, voluptuous shapes? This was the main question searching for an answer in this design experiment.

2. Technical goal: Redefine the Lamborghini supercar as an electric vehicle

Can we accept a supercar without a big V12 roaring in the back? Is the electrification of the cars killing all the fun or is it opening new possibilities for the motoring aficionado? How can we turn a "buzzing" gearless power train into a future automotive icon?

3. Functional goal: Integrate the new vehicle in the reality of the year 2020

Lamborghinis were never simple means of transportation; what more will they have to offer in the next decade? How will an electric Lamborghini be perceived ten years from now? What functions and requirements will it have to meet?

Minotauro (Italian for "minotaur") was in the Greek mythology a creature with the head of a bull on the body of a man. It was chosen as a name for the car after a brainstorming that identified one distinctive feature of the Lamborghini cars. That they are beasts you fight and let you live to tell the tale.

Other keywords taken into consideration when developing this project were: Italian, Extreme, Unexpected, Purity, Ornaments and embellishments free, Physically addictive experience, Pure automotive extravagance, Technological marvel.

The electric Lamborghini is equipped with 4 asynchronous motors that divide power 70% to the rear and 30% to the front axle. Electricity is supplied by a Li-Tec flatcell battery pack located in the rear doubled by a KERS system in the front.

The absence of a big V12 engine in the rear creates enough room for a third passenger in a central position. In the exterior, this unusual layout is communicated by the use of the narrow rear window that is shaped in order to improve interior lighting and head room for the rear occupant.

On the driver side the car has a normal door, while on the passenger side there is a longer "Lambo door" that also offers access for the rear passenger.

The triangle shaped air extakes in the rear serve for battery cooling and visually replace the traditional exhausts, which play such an important role in a traditional supercar. They also act like the tubes of a subwoofer, channelling the sound of the electric motors, placed behind them.

In 2020, with the acquisition of the new Minotauro, the Lamborghini owner will also get involved in a brand new experience called REAL LIFE ONLINE GAMING. In this scenario the Lamborghini driver can race his car on a real racetrack (like the Nurburgring). The GPS data of his racing lap is uploaded into the Playstation game network as a ghost. PS players from all over the world can race in virtual reality against the Lamborghini owner and try to beat his best lap. This is the car enthusiasts' social networking for the next decade.

Panoz Auto Development plans to bring a new car to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June. The Panoz Abruzzi will be the company's first completely new model since the original Esperante launch in 2000.

The sketch above was reportedly released by a former Panoz designer, and bears a striking resemblance to the Esperante, which the Abruzzi will either replace or join in the company's line-up. The name, meanwhile, is taken from a region in southern/central Italy that was recently ravaged by natural disaster. Hopefully the Abruzzi will bring better fortunes to Panoz.

Audi RS7 Concept - About the Designer

Audi RS7 Concept

The Audi RS7 Concept is a design study of a sportscar that adopts and combines several styling cues from the Audi Group models, from the R8-inspired rear end to the Lamborghini-trademark scissor doors. The author is Austrian Adriano Mudri.

Audi RS7 Concept

The Audi RS7 is a design study created by Austrian designer Adriano Mudri. The side view is inspired by the design of the R8 and like the Audi supercar it has a rear section - where the powerplant is located - in a contrasting color.

Audi RS7 Concept

This RS7 rendering sees the car with a rear-mounted engine, with design elements much like the current (real) Audi R8, including the contrast in color between the engine bonnet and the rest of the body.

Audi RS7 Concept

But here the contrast becomes more defined, with a stark black covering the rear engine bay and extending to the rear of the body, covering the rear wheel wells too.

Audi RS7 Concept

The horizontal design lines resonate Lamborghini, just like the R8 does, but also provide a larger curve over the front wheel wells adding a more organic touch to the RS7.

Audi RS7 Concept

The front face comes with a very distinctive double-gaping mouth, with minimalist LED headlamps and two small, round lights at the center.

Audi RS7 Concept

The scissor/gullwing doors are another special feature, borrowed from some Lambo models as well.

Audi RS7 Concept

Some details of the powertrain emerge on the engine hood surface so that the different powertrain configurations are visible on the outside. The exterior design has also some reminescences of various VW/Audi Group cars: the front end and the descending character line on the side remind of the latest Seat sporty models, while the scissor doors are a trademark of Lamborghini sportscars.
