In the regular 2013 Octavia, power will be provided by a range of petrol and diesel options, including an 89kW 1.4 litre petrol, a 131kW 1.8 litre petrol, and an 81kW 1.6 diesel. The petrol model should be quicker than the outgoing model, as it has at least a 10 hp advantage, as well as a weight advantage, so a sub-7-second 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time is to be expected.
The Skoda Octavia RS is expected to get the 2.0 litre direction injection petrol motor used by the Golf GTi which produces around 220 bhp. A 2.0 turbo diesel engine which generates power in the range of 170-180 bhp is also in the cards.
