A production version of the new Cadillac ELR will be unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show. “Based on the Converj concept, ELR combines dramatic design with industry-leading extended range electric vehicle technology in a unique luxury coupe,” Cadillac said in a statement.
Key design elements of the 2014 ELR are its raked profile and boomerang-style lights. The two-door ELR will be built alongside the Volt at GM's Detroit-Hamtramck plant starting later next year.
The ELR will obviously feature a much more luxurious interior and even more technological goodies.
The battery, too, should be more powerful than the unit in the Volt, with capacity likely increased to 17.0 kWh or more in the ELR versus the 16.5 kWh in the latest 2013 Chevy Volt.
