Daimler has announced the 2011 Smart Fortwo price for the UK market, The 2011 Smart Fortwo price starts at 8,780 GBP and besides the visual upgrades, the car comes with upgraded equipment and lowered CO2 emissions.

Under the hood we find the same engines as its predecessor: the 71bhp micro hybrid drive petrol delivering only 97g/km CO2 emissions. The Xclusive also lowered its emissions to 119g/km and received a 7bhp increase which means it now produces 102bhp and it is capable to hit 62 mph (or 100 km/h) in just 8.9 seconds (with a second quicker than the old model).

The interior gets a redesigned dashboard with restyled gauges, new steering wheel and glovebox designs and better fabric and color choices. The Fortwo also gets iPod/USB connectivity and, on high-line models, a navigation system.

The striking new generation smart fortwo, priced from £8,780 on the road, is now on sale.

A host of enhancements ensure the new smart is even more appealing than its acclaimed predecessor, providing significant improvements in style, comfort, CO2 emissions and equipment.

The unmistakeable iconic looks of the smart are strengthened with the front and rear aprons, side skirts and filler cap now finished in body colour as standard. The pulse specification now benefits from new eye-catching 3-double-spoke alloy wheels and the Xclusive has stylish new Monoblock VII alloy wheels, while both pulse and passion can now be
specified in the brighter shades of new light blue and matt light green colours.

In addition, the practicality of the coupé is heightened as it is now possible to open the car’s rear lower tailgate using just one of its two release levers rather than both as previously.

A new upper dashboard design is the most striking interior change and the harmonious styling of the full fabric-covered instrument panel, which houses restyled dials, complements the improved fabric and colour designs available for the cockpit, seats and door centre panels.

Adding to the sporty, dynamic look of the pulse are fabric seats with leather optic on the side bolsters and headrests. In common with the passion, the pulse also has eye-catching fabric elements in the instrument panel, door trim and knee pad that are colour co-ordinated to the upholstery. The passion line debuts a trio of new fabric patterns – design black, design red and design beige.

All models now benefit from extra storage in the shape of a new glovebox design and useful net pockets on seat side bolsters. Both trim lines receive new steering wheel designs too, a 3-spoke leather sports wheel with modified seam stitching for the pulse and a 2-spoke leather item with matt chrome bezel for the comfort-themed passion.

Enhanced technology is another feature of the new generation smart’s interior. The pulse model gains USB/iPod® connectivity and passion and Xclusive versions have the feature-packed smart high line audio and navigation system, which has a large 6.5” touchscreen display, RDS radio, Bluetooth®, auxiliary and USB ports, iPod® interface and CD/DVD/SD functionality.

The amazing performance of the smart high line audio and navigation system is core to the advertising campaign for the new generation smart, which emphasises the way owners can express themselves via their choice of music and the smart’s synergy with the city environment.

Via online adverts, users can search for any band or artist and the track of their choice is streamed through the banner. A unique visual of a city built in the style of a graphic equaliser reacts in time to the beat and users can ‘explore’ the shown city and listen to as many tracks as they like. They can also request a test drive or brochure direct from the advert. The smart will also feature in similarly-styled television and cinema adverts.

The new generation smart continues to use the same cutting-edge engines as its predecessor, with the popular 71bhp micro hybrid drive petrol unit fitted with softip transmission now emitting just 97g/km CO2 – an improvement of 6g/km. This development means the most popular petrol and diesel engines in the smart range now fall below 100g/km CO2. The emissions of the Xclusive are also lowered to 119g/km and a 7bhp increase sees the stunning flagship model now produce 102bhp and sprint from 0-62mph in 8.9 seconds – a whole second quicker than before. The whole smart range now emits less than 120g/km CO2, which makes all models exempt from the cost of the annual road fund licence for at least the first year from registration.

Shelby American has announced a new Super Snake package for the 2011 Ford SHelby GT500 that gets new styling and an optional 800 horsepower engine.

Package options include a supercharger upgrade to Shelby / Ford Racing or Shelby / Kenne Bell supercharger - anything to tack "Shelby" onto a part - that puts out 750 horsepower and throws in a new driveshaft, throttle body, and badges for good measure; or, if you're really in the mood to spend some cash, you can opt for that 800-pony package. Shelby American says that its Super Snake packages will only be available from the company or one of its "mod shops".

For the exterior the package adds a unique fiberglass hood featuring classic Shelby design and pins, Shelby signature Super Snake stripes in either matte black or matte white, and “Shelby” lettering across the rear deck lid. The interior gets a two tone leather interior and Shelby signature embroidered headrests, floor mats, and other Shelby designed components

The 2011 Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake also comes with a Borla exhaust system, an Eibach handling pack, Alcoa 20-inch wheels, and a short-throw shifter. All those horsepower must be stopped when needed, so the 2011 Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake is fitted with Baer brakes with 6 piston calipers and cross drilled / vented rotors and front brake cooling ducts.

Beginning this month, production is slated for 1000 units of the 2011 Super Snake. Pricing for the 800 hp package hasn't been announced yet, but the 750 hp package is $30,245 including installation but without car.

SHELBY AMERICAN ANNOUNCES SUPER SNAKE PACKAGE FOR 2011 FORD SHELBY GT500 WITH OPTIONAL 800 HP

LAS VEGAS - September 14, 2010 - Shelby American, a wholly owned subsidiary of Carroll Shelby International Inc. (CSBI:PK), will offer a Super Snake post title package for the 2011 Ford Shelby GT500 with new styling cues and an optional 800 horsepower tuned engine. Only 1,000 total Super Snake packages for the 2011 model year car will be built at the Shelby American facility in Las Vegas or one of the official Shelby Mod Shops, beginning in September of this year.

"Ford Motor Company did a marvelous job making the 2011 model year GT500 lighter and more powerful," said John Luft, president of Shelby American. "Our team applied its experience building Super Snakes over the past several years to offer a package that dramatically increases the new car's capabilities. And with the visual changes we've made, it will be a definite stand out on the road or track."

Just like the 2011 Shelby GT350, born on the proving grounds of the drag strip and road course at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Shelby American worked with companies like Ford Racing to create an even more aggressive suspension and engine package for the 2011 Super Snake.

"We extensively tested our mods for the 2011 model car before we decided the package was ready for the public," added Gary Davis, vice president of production and R&D at Shelby American. "For those who want more performance than the stock GT500 offers, the Super Snake will definitely meet their expectations."

For the 2011 model year, more power, a new anthracite wheel, white stripes and new side scoops are optional.

"We've only offered black stripes and chrome wheels on the Super Snake since we introduced the package a couple of years ago," added Davis. "With the serious advancements made to the 2011 model year, it was time to differentiate it from the previous generation car. So we added an 800 horsepower tune, optional wheel, side scoop and stripes to make it easy to spot the new Shelby Super Snake."

The 2011 Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake post title package includes:

Australia’s favorite sports car is getting some updates for 2011, but not much has changed aesthetically, or mechanically for that matter. What HSV has done is added a slew of technological updates to the E-series to come up with the new E-Series 3. The sports car will go on sale at the end of this month.

The HSV Commodore E Series 3 features the new Enhanced Driver Interface (EDI), which streams vehicle performance data directly to the car's touch screen display. The HSV E Series 3 also comes with Liquid Propane Injection (LPI), which is offered on all the models, except the Clubsport R8 Tourer.

A new model-specific stainless-steel ID plate has pride-of-place in the piano black centre stack, and new twin-stitch seat trims are featured in the GTS and Senator Signature. There is also a new leather colour, dubbed Turismo Rosso.

In addition, HSV introduced a new limited edition "20 Years of Maloo" performance ute to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Maloo nameplate. Holden has raided its parts bin to give the Maloo hood scoops, 20-inch wheels from the GTS and a bi-modal exhaust system. Prices for the 20 Years of Maloo R8 will begin at AU$67,900 (about US$63,300) for the manual, with production limited to 100 units.

Australia’s high performance car manufacturer Holden Special Vehicles is pleased to announce the launch of its new E Series 3, featuring a host of Australian production car firsts, and interior upgrades to the HSV range.

Chevrolet will releases its facelifted 2011 Captiva SUV at the Paris motor show this month. The new car comes with a fresh look at front which is based on the new design language that also created the 2011 Aveo. It also has enhanced interior with great quality for the used materials and a new powerful and efficient engine line-up accompanied by manual and automatic six-speed transmissions and front or all-wheel-drive.

The new lineup comprises of a 2.2 liter common rail turbo-charged diesel unit available with either 163HP or 184HP outputs, and two gasoline engines, a 171HP 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a 258HO 3.0-liter V6 with direct injection and variable valve timing.

The most powerful is the new 3.0-litre V6 that produces 258 HP while the 2.4-litre unit delivers 171 HP. The Diesel versions of the 2011 Chevrolet Captiva facelift are rated at 163 HP and 184 HP respectively, and all engine choices can be ordered as a 4x4 or a 2x4.

The new Captiva’s chassis has been re-tuned to further enhance vehicle dynamics, improving cornering, roll characteristics and ride feel. With Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS) and Braking Assist System (BAS) standard, as well as front-, side- and curtain airbags, the Captiva provides a high level of safety.

The interior has been upgraded and now features new seat fabrics and interior décor to give the car a more up-market feel and look. Other features such as the ice-blue back lighting and the ‘wrap-round’ design for the front fascia.

The new 2011 Chevrolet Captiva will go on sale in Europe in spring 2011.

The Captiva has won many friends for its exterior design since its launch in 2006, and with the new model it will get even better. A number of features are immediately noticeable when viewing the new Captiva from the front, adding up to its athletic stance: the re-shaped and sharply sculptured bonnet, a new larger grille and the Chevrolet 'bow-tie' sited proudly in the middle, prism style headlamps and integrated LED turn signals on the outside rearview mirrors.

Moving round to the front wings, the side air-vents now take on a more angular shape to emphasize the new Captiva's sporting intent, while from the A-pillars back the Captiva retains its handsome profile, characterized by a sleek, rising shoulder line.

Setting the new Captiva's body off perfectly are the new exterior color palette and the accentuated wheel arches which will accommodate wheel sizes of 17 to 19 inches.

It's under the Captiva's bonnet that the most significant changes are taking place, with no less than three new powerful engines that will come as standard with a new manual or automatic six-speed transmission for a powerful, smooth drive. The new engine line-up, which is comprised of one petrol engine (2.4L) and two turbo-diesel variants (2.2L), incorporates a host of advanced technologies aimed at delivering an optimal balance of performance and fuel economy.
